We have been so pleased with Dr Slavin and the professional, caring team of CSNO. I highly recommend this wonderful group if you or someone you care about requires their expertise. Dr Slavin guided us through the process every step of the way, answering all of my calls and questions with patience and compassion. My father, the patient, is recovering well from the delicate spinal surgery due to the tremendous skill of Dr Slavin, and we could not be more grateful. Follow up check-in and treatment have been excellent. A big thank you to Terriah for her excellent management of scheduling and related responsibilities.Posted on Google![]()

Great doctor I’ve been dealing with back issues for a long time and began seeing Dr. Slavin a few months ago. He has been amazing at not rushing surgery as the only option and trying everything else before to make sure we’ve exhausted all other options. He really cares about patients and listens to all your concerns. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for an honest doctor.Posted on Healthgrades![]()

Dr Slavin did surgery on me a few weeks ago. It was for a brain bleed that had unexpectedly gotten worse, almost an emergency. His work was excellent. My recovery has me virtually back to normal already. He visited me every day. Just had a post-op visit where he showed CAT scans and explained understandably why this won't happen to me again.Posted on Healthgrades![]()

My experience was great with Dr. Slavin. I had three surgeries and he was great with all three. He answered my questions, explained the procedures ahead of time, he checked on me every day while I was in the hospital. He always answers my calls when a problem arises. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who is looking for a good neurosurgeon. He always listens to my concerns.Load more

Everyone in this office is kind, considerate and compassionate. Dr. Rob performed an ALIF surgery on my back. He took away years of back pain. I am not crying every day at the end of a long workday because I cannot handle the pain in my back any longer. Physical therapy with Ted has been amazing. He has empowered me to take my life back through proper exercise. I would recommend this group to anyone.Posted on Google![]()

CNSO - Doctor Raab, Dr. Steinke and Jeimi are outstanding. I had gate issues while walking. My legs felt sloppy. I was having bladder issues. Last but not least, I was dealing with pain. My pain level was always between 3 - 10. Post surgeries, all three chief complaints were corrected. My gate and walking are normal. My bladder concerns were resolved. My pain now is 0 - 3. I feel this is all from my surgeries and will subside. I am 28 days out. I suffered from six levels of degenerative disc disease. All of these levels were bone on bone. They thoroughly explained to me the options. They made it clear that recovery can be challenging. I chose to move forward. They did ALIF with the cages. 12/5/25, they did the anterior approach. 12/6/25, they did the poster approach realigning my spine. I was suffering from spondylitis and Spondylolisthesis. They added hardware here too. I was visited everyday in the hospital by either Dr. Raab, Dr. Steineke or their covering Doctor. Never was a day missed. They explained everything to me and equally important, they listened to me with kindness, patience and compassion. These two outside doctors were called into assist Dr. Raab and Dr. Steinke. Their specialties and surgical wisdom greatly assisted in the surgical success. - Dr. Patel - vesicular surgeon Dr. Cece - plastic surgeon This neurosurgeons group was recommended by Dr. Rita Goradia, my primary care physician. She sent me to the best of the best. I am so grateful for CNSO.Posted on Google![]()

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Life-Changing Care — Dr. Raab Truly Gave Me My Life Back Dr. Raab is, without question, the best neurosurgeon anyone dealing with back or spine issues could ever hope to find. After years of debilitating pain following a serious car accident, I can honestly say that Dr. Raab saved my life and gave me a second chance at living fully again. I only wish I had met him two years earlier — but I truly believe everything happens for a reason, and I am beyond grateful that I found him when I did. What sets Dr. Raab apart is his integrity, compassion, and exceptional expertise. Unlike many doctors I encountered along the way, he does not rush or push surgery. He is thoughtful, thorough, and conservative in the best way — surgery is always a last resort, and only when absolutely necessary. When it became clear that surgery was the right option for me, I felt completely confident and safe in his hands. The results have been nothing short of life-changing. I am now pain-free, something I honestly wasn’t sure would ever be possible again. I began physical therapy at week 7 post-surgery, and Dr. Raab prepared me honestly and realistically for the journey ahead — reminding me that the real work now is building strength through PT and committing to lifelong core and body strengthening. His guidance has empowered me, not discouraged me. Dr. Raab listens. He explains everything clearly. He treats you like a whole person, not just a diagnosis or a case file. His calm confidence, kindness, and deep knowledge bring reassurance during what can be one of the most frightening experiences of your life. If you are suffering from back pain, spine injuries, or are feeling lost and overwhelmed by conflicting medical opinions, do yourself a favor and see Dr. Raab. He is honest, ethical, brilliant, and truly cares about his patients’ long-term quality of life. I will be forever grateful to him for giving me relief, hope, and a future without pain. He is simply the best.Posted on Google![]()

It’s been almost a year since my wife Barbara underwent spinal surgery. Prior to this surgery, she has gone through hell with a number of medical issues, most significant was the stenosis and scoliosis which contributed to a severely bruised spinal cord. We consulted with a neurologist and two orthopedic surgeons. They were of the opinion that there was very little that could be done other than pain management and that Barbara would, most likely, be confined to a wheelchair within six months. This did not resonate well with me. I spent countless hours researching her diagnosis and neurosurgeons and found, who we call, our “miracle worker”. Dr. Raj Raab, a neurosurgeon, at the Centers for Neurosurgery, Spine & Orthopedics (CNSO) in Wayne, NJ gave us a ray of hope. Dr. Raab consulted with us and was able to devise a procedure to specifically address Barbara’s issues. A month after our consultation, on June 24, 2024, Barbara had her surgery and by mid-August of last year we were able to take our annual Jersey Shore family vacation and a cruise in September that we had put off for over two years. Today, Barbara is virtually pain free and is walking on her own. Dr. Raab’s creativity in adapting an anterior cervical spine fusion procedure to correct her thoracic spine issues literally gave Barbara her life back. Prior to the surgery she was in excruciating pain and bound to a walker. On numerous occasions, she had to be rushed to the Emergency Room due to extreme pain and falls. Pain Management offered strong medications but little relief. Dr. Raab and his staff at CNSO are competent, compassionate, professional and personable in a very friendly environment. An absolutely skilled and amazing surgeon; our “miracle worker”. In situations like this you need persistent and never give up hope. For anyone who may be experiencing any spinal issues we would highly recommend Dr. Raab and the CNSO team.Posted on Google![]()

Was in severe pain for several weeks and tried several Dr.'s to no avail. Dr. Colin Harris sent me for an MRI and sent me to see Dr. Raab. At that time, I didn't realize how serious it is to have a tumor in between two vertebrae on my spine. Dr Raab removed the tumor and I never had a problem since. My back is like brand new. Thank you Dr. Raab!Posted on Healthgrades![]()

Went to Dr. Raab for a second opinion on my daughter's hangman fracture in her neck from a mva. He was amazing. He spent so much time with us, explaining everything in detail and in a way we understood. He is conservative in his treatment method - not pushing surgery - and he was funny and very calming. Highly recommendPosted on Vitals![]()

Dr. Rajnik Raab gave me my life back. I was in excruciating pain for years. One neurosurgery and many years later I was still in pain, could barely stand and walking more than 2 minutes was impossible. I was told by doctor after doctor “You are just aging.” This for a woman that has been an athlete her whole life. The harder I tried to get help the more desperate I became. Dr. Raab changed my life. On my first appointment with Dr. Raab I told my office I would be out of there in 5 minutes. That’s how every interaction had gone before. With Dr. Raab everything was different!!! I was there for over an hour. Dr. Raab himself was in the room with me for 45 minutes. He was compassionate, professional, knowledgeable and did not dismiss my pain as part of aging. He knew exactly what was wrong, said I should not have to live with the pain or my diminished mobility and that he was going to help me. Which he did. I could walk from New Jersey to California if I wanted to. I cried all the way back to my office. In one conversation and before any surgery Dr. Raab gave me hope. Everything since then including the surgery and dealing with his amazing staff has been a breeze. I was unable to sleep for years. I cried every night in pain and my quality of life was dreadful. No I feel as strong as I did when I was a teenager and happier than ever. My whole family especially me are eternally grateful to Dr. Raab.Posted on Healthgrades![]()

No words can articulate the professionalism and concern expressed by Dr. Raab, Dr. Haber, and the entire staff as I experienced excruciating back pain. From the time I arrived ( a wheelchair was needed since I couldn’t walk) until the time I had to get back into the car to leave, everyone seemed to be on a personal mission to make me as comfortable as possible. By everyone, I am including the reception area, billing, scheduling, PT, and anyone else employed by this practice. EVERYONE wanted me to have pain relief. The lengths that every single team member went through to make me as comfortable as possible are above and beyond anything I’ve ever experienced. Knowing that people genuinely care is as much a part of the healing process as the treatment itself. I would recommend this team without the slightest bit of hesitation!Posted on Healthgrades![]()

I recently took my mother to see Dr. Raab. She is 92 and has been diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia. Dr. Raab is kind, thoughtful and caring. Both my Mom and I are relieved he will be performing her surgery. His staff is wonderful. His surgery scheduler, Teagean went above and beyond to get everything set up in preparation of my Mom’s surgery. I am so grateful for all she has done, which was quite a challenge in this pandemic.Posted on Healthgrades![]()

Dr. Raab is truly the type of individual and physician that I seek. Caring and empathetic, patient and compassionate. An excellent communicator. I recently visited Dr. Raab regarding chronic back pain and he patiently and reviewed my results with me explaining my condition in terms that resonated with me and then developed a treatment plan that has provided me with relief. A surgeon yes, but never felt that I was meeting with a surgeon. The treatment plan did not involve surgery.Posted on Vitals![]()

I was referred by a doctor and a co worker. First his understanding of my somewhat rare condition was surprising. His pro/cons of my surgery was professional and he isn't the kind os surgeon to operate just to operate. If I was Paul Revere I would yell "thank you Dr Raab".Also since my operation was kind of rare, he also consulted another great surgeon named Dr. Ruoff to make sure it was done the right way.His staff is excellent and office is nice.
