Telemedicine Appointments

Doctor Offering Telemedicine Through LaptopThe Centers for Neurosurgery, Spine, & Orthopedics (CSNO) has been offering telemedicine to its existing and new patients for several years. Telemedicine (also referred to as “televisit,” “telehealth,” or “e-health” is a unique approach that allows CNSO award-winning specialists to evaluate, diagnose, review test results to treat patients using telecommunications technology for neurological and musculoskeletal conditions, as well as provide initial and ongoing physical therapy. Telemedicine allows patients at remote locations such as their home, car, or work to access CNSO experts quickly and efficiently without requiring any travel. The experience of a televisit is similar to a face-to-face visit with your specialist with the same level of care and attention to detail. Televisit’s for questions following a procedure, when travel is not convenient, or you are otherwise unable to drive to the office is an opportunity to schedule a same-day appointment with a specialist.

Your televist can be done using either a smartphone, laptop, iPad or a desktop computer with a camera and microphone.

How is CNSO able to deliver telemedicine?

CNSO is able to deliver an “in-office” experience with online ease. The staff at CNSO will verify whether your insurance plan benefits cover televists prior to your phone and video conference with the CNSO physicians. Today, almost all Televisits are covered by insurance!

CNSO utilizes software that allows for increasing levels of complexity – from an initial call about a condition or performing a physical therapy exercise to a complex online evaluation requiring MRI / CT / X-ray imaging, blood tests, neurological results, etc. to a discussion of medication(s) and / or surgical options. TeleVisits goes through our electronic medical records system which is HIPAA compliant for data security. CNSO teleVisits are convenient and secure. We utilize a software-based solution compatible with existing computers with webcams that works with every web browser, IPads, or smartphones – just click on a link or text that we provide. It is truly as simple as one click! Best of all, one of our staff will call you a few minutes prior to your to make sure everything is ready. The visit is virtually indistinguishable from the in-office experience.
